Attila Kovács

“Here is there – there is here (hier ist dort – dort ist hier)” | limited printed edition

The artist Attila Kovács created his works influenced by mathematical research in geometry. These studies and drawings can be found in the collection of the Museum of Art and Design in Nuremberg.

He assigns certain numerical values and mathematical coordinates to his works, as here in the Koenigshof Collection. Lines form a rhythmic network. They are created after precise analysis of scientific laws. Their aesthetic appeal is based on harmonious principles in clear black and white contrasts.

In 2006, he was represented at documenta 6 in Kassel with these works in the Museum Fridericianum. His art is classified as minimal art or concept art. In other words, a formal language reduced to the essentials.
