Carla Arocha

original lithograph on Velin d’Arches paper | limited and signed edition

The works of the artist Carla Arocha from Venezuela are classified as minimalist. With this reduction to the essentials, the smallest geometric interventions, she also refers to an originally indigenous formal language.

Her original interest was in biology. After completing her bachelor’s degree in this science, she turned to her passion for the visual arts. However, Carla Arocha’s art still contains traces of organic forms, such as patterns of animal fur, which she combines in monumental wall pieces. Her preference for minimalist dots or grids can also be seen in her works for the Koenigshof Collection.
