Roy Lichtenstein

“Big Painting No 6” | screenprint | limited edition

Roy Lichtenstein is one of the most famous representatives of Pop Art. In his early work, he was strongly influenced by Expressionism. In the 1960s, he painted his first large-format comic pictures. The “Benday Dots” are characteristic of his paintings. They were invented by Benjamin Day to create industrial illustrations. Lichtenstein’s paintings are based on the typical screen printing process, in which individual pixels can be recognized. The use of halftone dots simulates industrial production.

This screenprint by Roy Lichtenstein is a reproduction of his famous painting “Big Painting No 6”, published in collaboration with the artist’s estate.
