original drawing, stain and pastel chalk on paper
AAs in the art of calligraphy, Tonie Meilhamer begins with a highly concentrated preparatory phase that culminates in rapid and skilful drawing. Works with ink, stain, or pastel chalks can no longer be corrected. They therefore require great mastery.
Tonie Meilhamer presented this clarity to a wider audience in the live painting of her group Somph. Rhythmic, dynamic drawings were created in response to the music, moving like dancers in front of the large sheets of paper. This passionate energy can be felt and experienced in the drawing for the Koenigshof Collection.
